我能再回加拿大吗？（苦恼中）

各位好，

我2001五月申请到加拿大的移民，但同年夏天来到了美国读硕士。
因为不想丢掉移民身份，于是在12月去多伦多登陆过。接着继续我在美国的学业。现在已经有一年半过去了，一直没有再回加拿大。
其间申请返家证但是没有成功，原因是“not enough proof for strong tie to canada.". 后来因为新法的颁布，距朋友将不再需要办理返家证了。
今年五月毕业了，已经申请到McGill的博士录取，想去读书。现在有些担心是否海关会不让我入关？由于枫叶卡只能在加拿大内申请，所以还没有。
不知道是否有相同境况的朋友，请指点一二，或者告诉我该去哪里问询？

        上次在多伦多登陆了一次，申请了SIN，不知道算是Ontoria的居民吗？
        因为申请贷款各省都不同，看了魁北克的规定，自己不属于那里的居住者，至少要三个月才可以。但Ontario好像一定要1年的时间，真不知道我属于哪一类？希望您能给我什么建议，但无论如何都非常感谢！

          1. SIN is not proof of residence, driver license or health card are. basically you are not a resident of any provinces now. In your case, you must wait for certain period of time to be eligible for student loan.

          2. Since you are going to Quebec, you can apply for student loan when you meet the eligibility requriement months later. you will count on your own savings before getting the loan.

          3. Student loan is not free money, I don't think it is "the more, the better", and you can also apply for scholarship etc.

        • Oh, actually, you cannot use a valid I-20 to come back to the States IF YOU APPLIED FOR AN F-1 AND IS REJECTED. This is the current rule, changed after 9/11. -huj089(on the farm); 2003-5-29 (#1212533@0)
          • I happened to know one who did it 6 months after 9-11., you don't need another F1 to get back US as far as I understand unless you want a trip back to China. Again check with you ISO -mssg(mssg); 2003-5-29 (#1212541@0)
