First I want to say thanks to everybody, to share your idea with me. my case is:
someone drove a car (99 Chevrolet) owned by a company but bearing my license plate number hit someone. Law clerk said in that plate number in police accident report. now one I need to do is to get plate history from local transportation department.two is to get that accident report from police board.The worst case is plate number is my plate number, plate history is nothing to do with that company. let's see tommorrow.

I am confused. You mean somebody took your license plate on their car. Or there are two stes of license plate with same number on it. You just got the repeat license plate number. Which situation are you in?
