Yesterday, I wrote to the Bank of Canada and the prime minister with a clear message on behalf of the people of Ontario: stop the interest rate hikes.
In just 18 months, the bank has increased interest rates 10 times – the fastest series of hikes in Canadian history.
Higher interest rates are hurting people struggling to pay their bills and mortgages.
We need a long-term strategy to address inflation, not more painful hikes.
We’re working hard to keep costs down in Ontario. We’ve cut the gas tax. We’ve eliminated licence plate sticker fees and road tolls. We’re building 1.5 million homes to bring down the cost of home ownership.
But we need the federal government’s support. Will you join me in calling on the prime minister to work with provinces to keep costs down?

Sincerely,
Doug Ford
P.S. If you support the important work our PC Party is doing to keep costs down, please show your support and chip in here.
