I am not a big believer in Montessori. It emphasize practice and repeat, in the short term the kids seem to have learnt a lot, but children goes to good public schools will catch up soon. My kid went to Casa for a year only because the location is convenient and we have to pay for daycare anyway. To me the most important thing is the teacher and class size, no matter Montessori or public. As you can guess, I am not a big believer in private school either. I grew up in a relatively tough urban neighhood in China, I think it helps me to relate to real people in our society.

Sorry for can not typing chinese this time...

My daughter went to Central Montessori School(CMS) for Casa Class(age: 4-5). It's really good for her either in studying or on behavior ... amazing to us. I know many parents sent their pre-school kids to Montessori. But how about when they grow up to Grade 1? Is it still good to stay in Montessori for school age kids or better to transfer them to a public school?

The Montessori Primary is much much smaller than Public Primary --- only 1 class in this CMS campus, more than half students are Asian, also the classroom and yard seem a little bit crowd for school age kids. But they look like learn much more stuff than in public school.

Does any parent have experience or comment on having school age kids in Montessori Primary? What are the benifits and disadvantages in Montessori Primary other than Public Primary?

通常，如果有条件，孩子可以一直读私校。如果觉得小学没有必要，就中学再读私校。或者读私校可以读到三年级，之后考gifted program。据说也不错。蒙式教育对幼儿更具优势。小学教育比一般的公校教授的东西明显多。但蒙校不算好的私校，尤其是过了幼儿期后。其实，如果能找到一家不错的公校，比如排名了，生源了，也是不错的选择。公校的老师的英文纯正，孩子们如果一直在一起，可以有自己固定的朋友。主要是不用每月花那么多钱。但有一个问题你要考虑到，蒙校从casa就教不少东西，包括识字，算数，一两年下来，你会觉得孩子掌握的知识比一般的公校的孩子多。如果转过去，孩子开始会很开心，但过一段时间会觉得bored. 继而可能会丧失学习的兴趣。
其实公校私校各有利弊。你自己要好好衡量。

Many friends told me if kid was transferred from Montessori to Public, she may feel boring and lost insteresting on studying. That was my concert too.

But if I try my best to keep her passion and after the bored time, I wonder to know which one is better: "过了幼儿期后的蒙校" or "排名不错的公校"? Is any comment?

Also, you give me a new idea: "私校读到三年级，之后考gifted program". Does that mean gifted program in Toronto is from Grade 4?

经济允许，读私校（蒙校都可以的）最好。三年后考gifted program。那些班的学生人数少，听说到了年级高些的教学设备也很好。是的，我知道的Toronto一般的好像是grade4 开始有。如果觉得自己在家能帮助孩子（我觉得大部分学习好的，家庭起很重要的作用，包括洋人家庭），选择一个好的公校也可以。但几个问题：这个公校的生源如何。排名前的有的生源不一定好。我目前知道denlow ps的生源是不错的。还有，就是目前住的区有没有好的公校。需不需要搬家等。

Dose anyone here know about "Abacus Montressori Learning Centre" @ Eglinton & Credit Union? I am not a big believer in Montessori, too. But it is the only one that I can find for my daughter. All the other daycares are full. She is only 15 month, I even worry whether she would be taken care well there.
