No, you don’t have to. Suppose you have a query say STUDENT, you want query by field GRADE with different value, and you have a form called FORM1, combo box in that form called COMBO1 with predefined value Grade1, Grad2…etc.
In GRADE criteria you can put expression: [Forms]![FORM1]![COMB1], you can also use expression wizard to build it. So value in criteria is get from that combo box. Create a button in that form to open the query STUDENT, Just pick any number from pull down list and click button… Walla…
