I am working for telecom here and doing some ADSL network designs, also one Bell Sympatico user at home.I need to communicate clearly with budies that for sympatico we only have 1.5Mbps downloading while 640kbps uploading because this is limited not only by the ADSL modem itself but also the DSLAM in bell's CO. No one carrier will just let just less than 40 home users chew up one single OC3 uplink to their ATM backbone at the speed of 6-7Mbps, that's the reason why they just deliver 1.5Mbps limit to home users besides the distance limit of ADSL. Trust me,just take it easy, imagine if you want 2Mbps download with unlimited Internet usage per month, you should pay as much as 3000-5000RMB in china for ADSL, while here you only pay 40$/month for 1.5Mbps unlimited usage.
