you have a few misunderstandings about how windows works.

1. servers do have their own crdential, but it's not something you will have to worry about as an end user. When you access another server in the domain, you are using "your" credential instead of machine's credential
2. in the event that a machine's credential is being used, host's credential can't never be used by the VPC it hosts. Host and VPC are two totally seperate identities. From outside world, there is not differece between VPC and HOST.
3. If your vpc is not part of the domain yet, you need to join it into domain in order to use your credential to access domain resources as you would with HOST. Depending on your domain config, you might not have permission to join a machine into domain, however.

我的Desktop （下称host）联在公司Domain上，可以用Windows Authentication登录domain内的SQL Server （下称Server）。Desktop上装有Virtual PC（下称VPC）。VPC相当于一个Stand alone的Server，虽然可以联网，但是无法登录Domain上的那些Server，因为那些Server只认Windows Authentication。问题是，是否有可能让VPC使用host的credential，从而可以登录到Server上去？我拥有host的 Admin权限，所以只要能解决问题，如果有必要，在host上装什么proxy软件也可行。

VPC同为微软家族的产品，继承一下HOST的CREDENTIAL并不是一件难事，而且，这是一个非常非常COMMON的REQUEST。如果答案真的是“无解”的话，只能说微软的人太滥。早晚，会实现的。

我看没戏。Virtual Machine目的就是要建立独立于HOST的虚拟硬件和OS环境，我用VMWARE和VPC也有七八年了，第一次见到有这种REQUEST，并不觉得COMMON。或许你有个特殊的应用环境吧，TERMINAL SERVER倒是都用HOST的Credential，你可以看一下 -sweetpotato(阿土仔); 2007-5-28 (#3706816@0)

老兄，不矛盾的。VPC不是一个完全独立的PC，可以视作SUB DOMAIN(HOST)下的一台机器，技术上、理论上都可以继承HOST的Credential的。如果是看作完全独立的两台机器，那么诸位说的一切都对，当然，上面的问题也不会存在。 -bdbs(不多不少); 2007-6-6 (#3725234@0)

i think there is a windows running on VPC, if we call it CLIENT, just configure the CLIENT to the DOMAIN and login to domain -- just like you confiture another PC to work with the SERVEr. -647i(流浪的步行万里); 2007-6-6 (#3725111@0)
