1st. when you manage the backbone link between ponit to ponit node application, is there any intermediate nodes in the path between you point to point end nodes? For example, when you wanna tune up a service between Beijing and Shanghai or Toronto and Montreal wherever, you just deal with the two nodes in two cities? Or, you have to deal with the all nodes including intermediate nodes along this path, to setup from the ingress node to the outgress node.
2nd, when you setup the ponit to ponit end nodes, is there node identifier and port identifier for the local node to be identified uniquely in the path or in all backbone network? These node identifier and port identifier, if exit in the none-packet switched domain, can I say it is ueds as a IP address in the packet switch doamain does.
