激动中。自己做的Ajax js lib / servlet control 调通了，做法如下：each portlet has its own namespace, request handler on server side recognizes if incoming req is ajax or, non-ajax call, thus makes decision of sending a new page, or sending a xml string.

By using this library / framework, I can easily make arrangement on page container on which portlet should be the target of ajax call, and do partial page refresh. All CSS variables can also be controllable by server in real time during the partial page refresh.

All component IDs in webpage, DOM tree node names, and database table column names are syncronized by the framework. This will offer a general method to write a functional style sheet and control.

So basically, a webpage can stay longer without being updated frequently, partial page refresh makes web application acting like a normal desktop application. This will definitely reduce the network traffic and make application look nice and cool.

I have much more confidence to continue develop a web-based HR/ERP system for SMB.
