Does anyone know how to write a flash ticker with Action script?

I am working on a site which uses PHP4, now I need a flash ticker in the site. I put a Java ticker in it, but it doesn't work properly sometimes, also it is slow when we use Netscape. Does anyone know how to write a ticker with action script?
