Since a few of rolians(new CGAs) asked/PMed me the similar questions, I don't mind sharing them here from a CMA's perspective.

本文发表在 rolia.net 枫下论坛First of all, I am not familiar with CGA's regulation since I am a CMA. Per CMA's regulation, it's mandatory to take a group of courses on a 3-year rotating base including the inspection. I guess your CGA's mentoring program probably would be very similar as CMA's inspection program, in which an inspector(or a mentor) is assigned to review your practice every three year. All inspectors/mentors are volunteers, they are motivated to 1) network 2) get some compensation through the program 3) become a business coach or a trainer sometime in their life.

The courses I've taken so far in CMA are numerous...personal tax, corporation tax, consulting essentials, compilation workshops, ethics related, project management, and other courses towards a Certified Management Consultant...

I do not register with CGA's mentoring program and I have no idea on how it works. You can share with us after your exploring. Hope it helps.

Last but not the least, welcome to join business together if you share the value of professionalism, entrepreneurship and personal growth.更多精彩文章及讨论,请光临枫下论坛 rolia.net

      • Thanks.
I thought a lot persons here on rolia is pursuing CGA. I should correct myself in this respect.
        appreciate your insight of CMA.
The mentor I am asking is not mandatory for CGAs. It is an alternative for CGA who want to open own practice but has not have enough public practice experience. A mentor will review 10 FS for a fee. I still have question about how it works. I came here to ask.

If I finally take the steps to run own business, your experience and other's are valued.

        Thanks again
