This role requires the candidate to have strong experience and understanding of US GAAP (Since the client reports into a US Parent), also IFRS and Consolidations reporting.

LOCATION: Richmond Hill / Markham (Hwy 404 and Elgin Mills just off Woodbine)
REPORTS TO: Manager, Financial Reporting
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Co-ordinate, prepare and issue Consolidated Financial Statements and supporting schedules to Japan/US
Co-ordinate/ support quarterly Reviews and annual External Audit processes
Prepare and issue monthly Financial Statements and Management Reports
Prepare journal entries, review accruals and analyze various General Ledger accounts
Analyze Financial Statements and supporting schedules. Liaise with business to obtain required explanations and resolve queries
Prepare/communicate monthly results to management including SG&A analyses for major variances
Prepare monthly Consolidated Financial Statements
Co-ordinate, prepare, review and issue various Statistics Canada reports
Participate in the implementation/upgrade/maintenance of various systems
Prepare documentation for, and support Sarbanes Oxley audits
Undertake other tasks and projects as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS:
Post secondary degree or diploma in accounting or business, and/or equivalent experience of 5+ years working in an accounting department. An accounting designation is preferred. (CA, CGA, CMA, etc)
Strong PC skills, specifically Excel
Experience with an ERP system required. (PeopleSoft/SAP would be an asset)
Excellent analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills
Good written and oral communication skills
Solid work ethic and initiative
Ability to build collaborative relationships with internal and external parties
