本文发表在 rolia.net 枫下论坛哎，加拿大就是好啊，在这里可以学会自已动手做不少事情啊：刷墙，铺瓦，铺地板砖，地毯，砍树，开小型推土机，外加开垦一块自留地种黄瓜。。。。
去年的时候草地就疏于管理，再加上剪草机坏了（送去修理，到现在还没有取回来）俺家的草坪杂草丛生，简直“残”不忍睹！于是，决定今年自己动手换草坪。从哪儿开始呢？决定到图书馆界录像带看，没借到；只好东问西问，觉得差不多了，就开始动手了。
1.到tools rental借一个旋转碎土机rototilling，把原来的草坪里的草翻出来，深度8-10厘米，要横纵向各翻土一次。然后用耙子把草根耙出来。把土抚平。
2. 铺一层top soil ,厚度 8-10厘米；加化肥（我买的是颗粒状的氮肥），用量是10kg/100sq.，用翻土机翻到5厘米深处后，抚平；
3.买草皮，草皮有ｂｌｕｅｇｒａｓｓ和混合草种之分。经过咨询，得知前者是草种中最好的，但是后者应用最广泛的，抗病防虫，易于管理。我们选择了后者。草皮远的可以到地里拉，每卷$1.35. ，送货上门是$2/卷。草皮最好现买现铺，放置时间最长不要超过24小时。如果8小时以后铺，最好放在阴凉的地方或者盖上湿布。
4.铺草皮。最好是2个人协作。先找一条直线为基线，可以以路沿为准，也可以以自己设置的一条直线作为基线。关键是铺的第一卷草皮，一定要直，边铺边把土抚平。注意以后的每卷草皮一定要铺紧，但是一定不可以重叠。边缘部分用刀裁齐。
5.铺好的草皮应该马上浇水，第一个小时应该浇1升/sqft，以后的3小时浇水不要少于6升。第6-7天的时候应该剪草一次，草的长度应该保持在3厘米左右为佳。
好啦，不是很难操作的吧？剩下的就是定期的护理工作了。对了，俺家门前的草坪面积估算是1000ｆｔ2，草皮一共花了$160左右，外加2个半天的免费人工^_^（一个半天除草坪，一个半天铺草坪）
P.S. top soil可以在no frills， Canadian tire ,home depot等买到，很多花店也有卖的。$4-5/包。化肥也很便宜，价钱不祥了。
