I got problem to install gcc. It said no space. I am not sure where the soliaris put the gcc. My usr/local directory is quite large. Please help

Sorry for responding so late. I saw your message just a few minutes ago.I have not Solaris system on my desktop right now. But I can remember that most of compilers are installed under /usr/opt directory. And also may use other directories. I am not so sure. But you can check the free disk space before and after the failed installing. To see where is the bottleneck. Hope this is helpful for your problem.
