If it is uncontested divorce, and you want to submit a joint application for divorce, you only need to state the seperation date which is agreed by both of you ( at least one year before you file your application). It will be OK.

Either you hire a lawyer or do it by yourself, the processing time will not be any different. The difference is the knowledge of family law and court procedure. It may affect the processing time.
