you have to keep a valid status till you become a PR, study permit, work permit, visitor visa,etc. as long as it's valid.

I don't know what category you are applying for. But you should be qualified for CEC class if you have studied in Canada for a period of time. This only takes less than a year.

谢谢你的回复。没在加拿大读书，直接签工作签证来加不到一年。那我需要一直延我的工作签证来等待我的PR？我应该不能算CEC，不知道要等多久才能拿到PR？

If I were U, I just wait to submit till eligible for CEC. Since you have already submitted, the processing time varies from Visa Post to another and the category.

1 year? I do not know the time line now. Mine was almost 1.5 years from May 2005 till October 2006
