工作学习 / IT技术讨论 / 请教：服务器CPU升级---单CPU升到双CPU问题公司的服务器资源已经严重不足，故决定扩内存，加CPU。问题是：
1、加一个CPU以后，服务器的系统是否必须重装？（系统NT，应用FILE NEXUS，CLIENT ACCESS）
2、如果重装了系统，原来的应用是否简单地RESTORE就行了？原来建立的与AS/400的连接（CLIENT ACCESS）会保留下来还是需要重新安装？我是做AS/400的，对NT不熟悉。希望得到DX们的指点。谢谢

NT有两个版本，如果你一开始就装了多CPU版本，就不用升级，但是缺省情况下装的是单CPU版本，必须重装。

if you have a terminator with the second cpu slot now, you have the chance. why not have a try before asking?

根据MS的正解,NT安装多CPU要重新安装系统.如果是2000,在安装好新CPU之后,在系统管理里面必须刷新硬件配置即可.

MS的正解可不是重装（那大家还不都吓坏了），调整一下内核就行了。好长时间没用，忘了文件名，去查一下MS的KB.

if u have resource kit, u could run one command to update ur core.i forget the name, u could find from www.microsoft.com. CPU is not as simple as hardware. i am not sure if u could install second just refrsh hard ware. i think it also need a command to load file from cd-rom.

要是从2CPU升到4CPU，你什么都不用做。1个到2个，稍微麻烦一点，但也不用重装系统。去微软当个小工具，调整一下NT的内核就行了。

如果使用的应用系统重装没有太大的麻烦,建议你重装系统. 微软的调整工具在不同的机器上使用的方便程度也不同,并且不稳定!

according, it just change two files and it is no tbig deal. and on the resource kit, it recomment just run that tools. of course frsh sysytem could be better than the system run a long time.
