The bible in that field. Not only a book for one-time study, but also a good one for daily (if you do a lot of design, instead of programming) reference.

you should buy it if you have basic code skills.after you have trained yourself several months, when you get the point, found job just like talk. I got a job just have one interview and 10 minutes talk.

Definitely every programmer should keep a copy of the book, as a reference. Familar with the CONs and PROs, then think about it when getting real works.No design will give you a doc down to function level and you only implement the dummy thing. Gradually you will create your own patterns, instead of everything waterfalls.

Not so quick:) Patterns are growing. And take time to really utilize them smoothly with your projects. Not something only for carving the patterns in the codes.

check ur fte server now, i created a folder called designPattern and transfering the compressed file rite now.ftp progress bar indicates that it will take near 4 hrs to finish the transfer,but i'm leaving soon , if there is anything wrong with the transfer ,you can post a message here ,i will go to brows it next week

Where is miketany's ftp server? It may be his personal computer and very slow. 青青园中虫's ftp server is accessable to everyone and will be much faster. Don't you want to give a try? Thanks.

Design Patterns被称为是软件开发领域10年来最重要的书籍..UofT CS有一门软件设计课程专门讲这个.非常有用.不过这本书是很难,大家可以再选一本简单的书帮助理解.我推荐<<The Design Patterns: Java Companion>>,这本书全是例子,比较简单.

JAMES COOPER的书写得很烂. 他自己说写这本书的目的是他想学DESIGN PATTERNS. 所以书中的例子错误白出. 建议还是看原版的GoF BOOK.
