是在安装刚开始时，运行installer,选择路径，copy文件，然后出现一个弹出窗口，"can't create shortcut for oracle in startup menu or desktop". 怀疑是权限问题，可我是用administrator身份运行的installer. 难道运行setup.exe之前还要做什么配置吗？多谢。

oracle倒没碰到这问题过,你可以再试试.装DB2时倒叫我用超级用户装,但我用的就是,真弄不明白

For Pentium 4 PC to install Oracle using Universal InstallerThere is a bug. Within the download files, one file named Symcjit.dll. This file need to be deleted and run Universal installer from hard disk.

感谢回帖。我按照你说的做了，可惜还是不行。。。我在administrator组里建了个oracle用户，将这个用户加入 'LOGON AS A BATCH JOB', 'LOGON LOCALLY' and 'LOGON AS A SERVICE'，可还是同样错误。
另，我的win2000是在fat32 上，有影响吗？

1. The version of Oracle (need detail info, such as 8.1.7)
2. Standard version or Enterprise version ?
3. Operation system (Window2000 XP ?)
4. Error message

Follow up:Are you running multiple versions of oracle on this box?
Also, please upload the logs from this installation, so I can see exactly where the error is occuring.
Are you logged in as the local administrator or Global administrator? Is the adminstrator in the local ora_dba_group?

oracle 9i安装失败后，我曾经试装oracle 8, 成功。以下是以administrator组的用户oracle登录，安装oracle9i的log.多谢。

It seems you install 9iAS on Window2000Two more questions :
1. which version you install ? (1.0.2.0.0, 1.0.2.2.2, 1.0.2.2.2a, etc)
2. which OS you use ? (detail info need) you can run winmsd from DOS prompt to get it.
