Not necessary... If you go to Vancouver, your Chinese license is valid for 6 months. If you come to Ontario, a new Chinese license is of no use.

You need to pass the exams for a valid British Columnbia driver licens.So it is better for you to pass those exam after you landing. Or you will have almost no time after you got a job.
And when you apply for some service, you should have your BC driver licens ready.
