this is not true, not only CGA, every accounting program increases its passing rate now, the idea for the entire accounting industry is to provide affortable labour to the market.

Not well recognized in Canada, different US states have different CPA rules.

Also very easy. The most difficult CPA in the world sits in some developing and populated countries, such as China and India, where the passing rate is normally less than 10%, together with the fact that the students (most of them are Chinese and Indian) taking the examination are very smart and very good at examination. You can imagine how hard the Chinese and Indian CPA is.

CPA examinations are not hard to pass, but most states now require candidates to have 150 post secondary semester hours (equivalent to 5 years) to be eligible to write the exams.

I know most Chinese students go to State of lllinois, Why ? taking the advantage!lllinois CPA only need 1 year working experience to get the certificate before July, 2010. But now they change the rule.

no, you do not need the working experience to get the certificate or registered license by that time. I do not think that is taking advantage, as you still need to be tested, just in a different way.

only passing 4 courses does not mean you are entitled to use the "A" .

Even you pass all CGA courses(19+2), you're still not entitled an "A". Equivalent working experience is always required to get certification.

that's true. As you are in Canada, you will be able to gain enough working experience to be licensed sooner or later. For CPA, you will have to be working in the states to get the experience.

If the company says, if you are CGA, your salary will be 1w higher. why not take it? It is quiet easy, overall time spent on each subject will not exceed 1 week of after working hours, less than 40 hours in total.but if the incremental benefit (more chance to find a job, promotion, salary increase) is less than the incremental cost (time spent on the exam), then do not take it. BTW, usually the company covers the exam fee and other fees.
